X M A S | Roast Beef with Gravy, Vegetables and Yorkshire Pudding

We are not Christian, but is fun to celebrate Christmas every year. The children are always looking forward for it. Present.

Every festivities, I will try new recipe, just to get into the spirit of celebration. This one was good and easy to prepare. Typical Sunday roast.

Roast Beef with Gravy and Vegetables

Serves 6-8

1kg Beef (chuck roast)

2 Sticks Carrot

1 Serving Green Vegetables (Broccoli, Green Beans, etc)

2 Tbsp Salt

1 Tbsp Pepper

1 Tbsp Mustard

4 Tbsp Butter

1 Tbsp Flour

2 Tbsp Olive Oil

Rub salt, pepper and mustard all over beef. Let it sit for 20 minutes.

Bake in preheated oven at 200⁰C for an hour, medium well. Add 10-15 minutes for well done.

Let the beef rest for at least 15 minutes before carving.

Save all the dripping from roast. Pour into a pan, add in butter and flour to make roux, add broth/water to thin it out. Keep whisking to avoid lumps. Season with salt and pepper.

Steam carrot and green vegetable. Season with salt, pepper and butter before serving.

Yorkshire Pudding

½ Cup All Purpose Flour

1¼ Cup Milk

¾ Cup Vegetable Oil

3 Eggs

½ Tsp Salt

Preheated oven at 250⁰C.

Whisk flour, milk eggs and salt till well combined. Rest 10-15 minutes.

Put a tablespoon of oil in each of the muffin hole. Heat the muffin pan in the oven for 5 minutes.

Take it out, pour in the batter (be careful, it will splatter a little). Bake for 10-15 minutes till all the yorkies puff up.
